ChhhanChhan On The En-route To A Happy Ending!

Sony Entertainment Television’s daily soap ChhanChhan started with a lot of expectations. Produced by Optimystix Entertainment and starring Sanaya Irani as the lead protagonist ‘Chhanchhan Sarabhai’, began on 25th March 2013. In the beginning the concept came across as a breath of fresh air to the audience .

It was based on the concept of clash of ideologies between the new generation (Chhanchhan) and the older generation. The character of ChhanChhan’s mother-in-law, Umaben was essayed by Supriya Pathak. The story was all about creating a balance between different generations and their ideologies.

The show was initially supposed to be an adaptation of Rekha and Rakesh Roshan’s Bollywood hit film Khubsoorat on the small screen showcasing the lives of Chhanchhan and Manav Borisagar (Farhan Khan/ Anuj Sachdeva). It began with loads of scope and promise but it failed to meet the expectations of the audiences.

When ChhanChhan began, some compared it with Sanaya Irani’s earlier hit show Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon on Star Plus. The chemistry between the leads of Iss Pyaar Ko… Arnav Singh Raizada (Barun Sobti) and Khushi Kumari Gupta and further the on-screen chemistry aspect was compared with the reel chemistry that Sanaya Irani shared with the initial Manav, Farhan Khan! While some set of people outrageously decided against watching the show, some watched and ridiculed it and the other set of TV viewers wanted to see their favorite actress adorning a new role in a new show.

The show could never see the uphill of TRPs but Alas! controversies were always surrounding it. Whether it was the rumour that the male lead is going to be replaced or it was the replacement of the main lead and Anuj Sachdeva taking the place of Manav Borisagar and replacing Farhan Khan or it was Farhan Khan’s not so friendly statements about co-actor Sanaya Irani, time and again the show has seen a number of controversies.

With Anuj joining the cast and crew the show stabilized and the audiences rather liked Anuj and Sanaya’s pairing. But yet this could not bring about a massive rise in the TRPs.

And Now the show after seeing various twists and turns is heading towards a closure. Sadly it is going off-air on 19th September 2013. Currently the show is at a phase where after difficult times in the Borisagar family, the family is coming together being united. That’s the way Umaben always wanted to keep the family. On the other hand Chhanchhan is seen fighting to prove her husband innocent in the deceit he is being framed by Rupaali (Shruti Bapna).

The show will have have a happy ending for Manav and Chhanchhan who against all odds have stood tall and have always stood up for their love and for what is right.

On 13th September Romanch Mehta, the actor who essays the character of Manek, Umaben’s second son in the show tweeted about the show wrapping-up and a picture with the cast –

We are sure viewers will miss ChhanChhan. We at Fuze would like to wish Good Luck to the cast and crew of the show for all their future endeavours.
