In a bid to make her brainchild, the Box Cricket League with telly actors more attractive, Ekta Kapoor has laid down certain guidelines for its season 2. Buzz is that the telly czarina wants only known faces in the playing teams. She is also keen that a clause be incorporated that actors who are part of her various shows, be part of the tournament as well. She has also incorporated a clause in the actors’ contracts making it compulsory for them to take part in the tournament.
Says a source, “She wants the top TV talent to be part of the league. Her mandates include that all the lead actors of shows be included in the various teams. In the playing 11, at least seven actors should be lead actors with at least 250 episodes to their credit. The rest of the team has to consist of actors who have done at least 500 episodes of their various shows over the years. This benchmark is to ensure that they are recognised faces.” .
Adds the source, “The team and players are being selected carefully. The objective is quality control of the team members.”
Anand Mishra, co-owner of the Box cricket League says, “We want to ensure that all top TV talent are a part of the league. A clause has been added in all Balaji actors’ contracts to ensure faces associated with our shows gets showcased on the box cricket league to make it bigger.”
Box cricket League (BCL) as a property is owned by Ekta Kapoor, Sunny Arora and Anand Mishra. Bome of the prominent faces of BCL include Tina Datta, Divyanka Tripathi, Kamya Punjabi, Karan Patel, Arjun Bijlani, Adaa Khan, Mouni Roy, Mrunal Jain and Ssharad Malhotraa.
