Actor Anuj Sachdeva who was last seen in Colors’ Swaragini – Jodein Rishton Ke Sur and received much appreciation for the portrayal of an obsessed lover in the show is back to entertain his fans yet again in an all new avatar.
The actor will be seen in Amazon’s upcoming web series, Breathe alongside actors’ R.Madhavan, Amit Sadh and actress Sapna Pabbi in pivotal roles.
Breathe is a suspense thriller and will have eight episodes which will be uploaded one by one unlike Amazon’s previous web series Inside Edge whose all the episodes were uploaded in one go.
In an EXCLUSIVE interview with Fuze, Anuj shared about his character, his experience of working with actor R.Madhavan and much more.
What new can viewers expect from Breathe?
One of the major things that viewers can expect is a never before seen avatar of Madhavan Sir. He is playing a grey shade for the first time and it’s something to really watch out for.
Amit Sadh, Sapna Pabbi and me are also going to be seen playing the characters that we have never played before so, viewers are definitely in for something new.
Tell us something about your character in Breathe.
I cannot reveal much about it but in brief, the character I’m playing is of a guy who is a painter. A guy who is creative, more into his own thoughts than the real world. It’s a very subtle character and something I have never played before.
How was the experience of working with R.Madhavan and Amit Sadh?
Amit Sadh is a friend, I have known him since the time we used to work out together. The first time I saw him on-screen was in one of the jewellery ads and he was just fantastic in that ad. He is a nice guy, a good person and an equally good performer.
In Kai Po Che, he was too good and it’s always brilliant to work with someone who you already know. Coming to Maddy Sir, though I didn’t spend much time with him but when I met him on the sets, I was just awestruck. I mean, how can you be not awestruck to see someone like him right in front of you? He is a really lovable person and genuine at heart.
You have done a number of television shows and this is your first web series so, what difference you felt in the working environment?
There’s a huge difference. First of all, a web series is a finite series and at the same time, an actor is given liberty to perform the way he wants to. To do things as per the character’s demand without any restrictions. I used to call the director all the time to know his vision on the scene I did or how should I perform the next scene? In television, you don’t have much time.
You have to deliver a new episode everyday and a few number of scenes have to be done everyday but in a web series, we don’t really have to rush to complete the number of scenes in a single day, we can shoot it the next day. Honestly, working in a web series is like working in a film.
Also, when the quality becomes the priority, the working experience is so much better and here, it was exactly the same. The quality was the priority.
Breathe somewhat seems to be on the similar lines of Sanjay Dutt’s film Kidnap, what would you like to say on that?
See, the context might seem similar but how the things are done and how the story is unfolded is definitely going to be very different.
Message to your fans?
I’m working in a web series for the very first time and it’s a new venture for me, I just want my fans to keep supporting me and loving me the way they have always been. Their support encourages me to do better work.
