Happy Born Day VirMan CaféÂ
31,708,800 seconds; 528,480 minutes; 8,808 hours; 367 days; 52 weeks and 1 whole year of VirMan Madness! First of February 2013 is a special day for the fans of Virat and Maanvi, iconic characters from the hit show Ek Hazaron Mein Meri Behna Hai, and the stars behind the famous VirMan, Nia Sharma & Kushal Tandon. For this day marks the first anniversary of their favourite hangout spot; the VirMan Café.
VirMan Café or VC was formed by a group of friends to offer a platform for fellow VirMan fans to share their love and well, yes, their madness for VirMan. VC’s specialty is that Nia, Kushal, his two sisters Tina and Bhavana are also very much a part of this café and have been almost from the time of its formation. VirManiacs, VirManesiacs, VCians, Nishalians, whatever else you call them, the café fights together for VirMan and have won many wars, that is to say, ‘awards and accolades’ including nominations for the Indian Television Awards, the SexyList 2012 of the Eastern Eye of UK and other online polls such as the King of Tellywood and Best TV actor to play Bond. VirMan café unites to make VirMan win—even if it is simply to defend their name with other fan groups.
#SexyList2012 of the Easter Eye magazine based in UK was a particularly sweet victory for the VirMan Café as they proved their power to the World by ensuring #NiaSharma and #KushalTandon were the most tweeted topics in India for a week. VCians get the credit for ensuring the title of highest ranked TV stars in Asjad Nazir’s Sexy List 2012 male and female for Kushal at 6th place and Nia at 5th place respectively. It’s sad that the fans were not able to bag another victory with Star Plus networks show Nach Baliye in spite of intense votes coming in from members. Kushal’s elimination from the show this week comes at a bittersweet time for the VCians as their celebrations have been somewhst subdued because of this loss—madness can only be suppressed for so long, especially when Nia and Kushal have the unique relationship with the VCians and take effort to cheer them up as and when possible.
What united the café was love for VirMan and at times the same love was responsible for splitting the café. It’s of little surprise that the year gone by was an exciting yet tumultuous one for the members, administrators and the stars themselves. Ups and downs aside, the cafe was a hotbed of artistic creativity. VCians claim the fame to be the first fan group in India to use memes to express themselves and feature Indian TV stars in their band new memes. Gangnam style was used as a form of punishment for the negative character in a memes before SRK got wind of this particularly enjoyable form of dance. The poems, stories, reviews written on the walls of VirMan Café are enough to fill and entire bookstore with best sellers. VirMan Café was also the first fan group to produce and publish a magazine for their favourite stars called the ‘VirMan Café Magazine. Many of these ventures so to speak sparked as discussions on the café wall and bloomed into activities that we continue to date.
To mark this anniversary the café has in fact published the Anniversary Edition of the VirMan Café Magazine (3rd Edition) which will give the readers a glimpse of what is called VirMan Madness and how it all happened. Link to this magazine will be launched on the 1st of February at the VirMan Café where it all began.
We wish the VirMan Café, its administrators and members and especially Nia and Kushal all the best and many more years of VirMan Madness.
