Another of the most awaited trailers of the movie Gold starring Akshay Kumar and Mouni Roy is out. It is a historical sports drama film which is inspired by independent India’s first Olympic Gold medal. It will trace the journey of the hockey players who brought the first Gold medal in hockey for India after independence.
The trailer was wonderful and would thrill every Indian who takes pride in their country. It is the struggle of Tapan Das, who dreamt to fight against all possible odds, just to see the tricolour unfurled, standing tall in front of the British.
Amidst the splendid trailer, our eyes couldn’t take enough of Mouni Roy, the leading lady of the film. Gold will be the debut of Mouni as a lead role in Bollywood. Her look was that of a Bengali woman and she was clad in a saree.
India won its first Gold medal in hockey in 1948, right after it gained its independence. Rightly the movie is set in the 1930’s and 40’s, and Mouni’s look is in sync with women living in that time period.
She loose braids her hair, wears the nine yards in a Bengali fashion and also uses bindi. It seems she has a proper Bengali look in this movie. Her character also has a Bengali accent.
For those few moments that she appeared in the trailer, be it with Akshay Kumar or dancing in a party, Mouni made her impact. Her efforts were clearly visible. She was seen in a black and gold saree having a flower on her bun too. She looks beautiful and her look from Gold has definitely excited us! And from what it seems, she will definitely impress us with her new look and acting, of course.
The movie Gold is all set to release this independence day, i.e 15th of August. Watch out the Gold trailer here –
