There are many great shows out there and then there are those few shows that end up having a cult like following and are definitely the most popular in terms of fan bases. They are the most searched for shows on Google and these shows have made quite the place for themselves in the hearts of fans. Bigg Boss
This show has been running for 7 successful seasons now. It has had its fair share of controversies and yet people cannot get enough of it. Peeping into the everyday lives of celebrities that are locked up in the house has captured the attention of countless fans.

Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon
If there is one thing 4 Lions do best, it’s creating immensely popular love stories and sizzling on screen chemistry of their lead couple. This show was no different. Arnav (Barun Sobti) and Khushi (Sanaya Irani) are considered one of the hottest couples that Indian television had seen. The fan following of this show was such that the makers had to end the show when Barun left the show for health reasons. Fans just would not accept anyone else with their Khushi. The show still has a massive fan following that make their presence felt online.

Pavitra Rishta
This show first aired in 2009 and it is still going strong! The show has gone through cast changes including one of the lead pairs. It has seen leaps and new additions to the cast, yet the loyal viewers still watch and love it without fail. There have been marriages, divorces and babies. There have been rumors for a couple of years now that the show is going to end, but it is still on and now we are seeing one of the actress’ playing a double role.

Qubool Hai
4 Lion’s Qubool Hai started with a different background than most shows as it dealt with Muslim families. The show had the typical 4 Lions formula and it definitely worked! Everyone loved Asad (Karan Singh Grover) and Zoya (Surbhi Jyoti). Karan ended up leaving the show due to health reasons; however, RaQesh Vashisth has stepped in as Asad and is doing a wonderful job. The story is still going as strong with many fans starting to accept RaQesh as Asad.

Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi
This show successfully ran for 8 years which is amazing for a daily soap. It followed the journey of Tulsi (Smriti Irani) who married into a joint Gujarati family. It dealt with the ups and downs that come along with living in a joint family and it showed Tulsi’s journey from wife to mother to mother in law to grandmother to finally grandmother in law. It showed how she beautifully and ideally she handled all her relationships.

Crime Investigation Department (CID)
This show has been running since 1998 and is presently still on air! It basically follows a team of detectives from the CID in Mumbai and exactly what they go through when they come across a crime and how they solve it. This is the longest running television show in India and it has just completed 17 years on air on January 21st.

Geet Huyi Sabse Parayi
Another 4 Lion’s creation has made the list. This show had and still has a huge fan base. While it was on air, it was a huge success. People loved the bubbly Geet (Drashti Dhami) and the handsome Maan (Gurmeet Choudhary). This show aired for a little over a year, but has made a huge impact on the hearts of fans who still remember the show fondly.

Pyaar Kii Ye Ek Kahaani
Vampires aren’t just the rage on American television, but also in Indian television. This show featured a dark hero in the form of a vampire, Abhay (Vivian D’sena) and of course he falls in love with the beautiful girl next door, Piya (Sukirti Kandpal). The show ended on a happy note with the lead couple married.

Dill Mill Gayye
This show was a medical drama that revolved around a bunch of interns and their love lives. The show ended in 2010, but is still remembered by fans. It is also the show that made Karan Singh Grover, Shilpa Anand, Jennifer Winget-Grover, etc household names. The show was a rage especially amongst the youth as it was a youth centered show.

Diya Aur Baati Hum
This love story is still on air and going strong. It is the story of Sandhya (Deepika Singh) and her dream of becoming an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer. She gets married into a traditional joint family who don’t believe that the daughter in law should work. Her husband, Suraj (Anas Rashid) is not educated; however he supports her dreams and helps her in trying to achieve her goals.

Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai
This show completed 6 years and has seen very few cast changes. The show has been going strong since its inception and revolves around 2 traditional Rajasthani families. The lead couple, Akshara (Hina Khan) and Naitik (Karan Mehra) had an arranged cum love marriage. It shows the struggles they go through especially Akshara as she tries to be the dutiful wife, daughter in law and now mother.

Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa
This dance reality show is quite popular. The celebrity contestants are paired up with choreographers. Their performances are judged by the judges as well as the audience as audience votes for the winner. It’s completed 6 seasons so far, but fans haven’t gotten enough of it yet.

Saath Nibhana Saathiya
This show has been on air since 2010 and revolves around the lives of 2 cousin sisters that marry into the same family. The sisters are complete opposites of one another. The show follows the trials and tribulations they go through.

Comedy Circus
This show has celebrities teamed up with professional comedians who are pitted against other such teams and they all want to win the show. It has been on air since 2007 and has aired with different names each season.

Ek Hazaron Mein Meri Behna Hai
This show revolved around 2 sisters  Jeevika and Maanvi. They both end up marrying 2 brothers. Viren (Karan Tacker) and Jeevika (Krystle Dsouza) are the eldest and have an arranged marriage. Virat (Kushal Tandon) and Maanvi (Nia Sharma) are the youngest and they have a love marriage. It basically followed their love story and the ups and downs of all different types of relationships in the lives of the sisters. This show aired for 2 years and ended on a high note.

Punar Vivah
This story had a unique concept where it showed the second marriage of the lead pair, Yash (Gurmeet Choudhary) and Aarti (Kratika Sengar). Yash’s wife dies and he is left with his 2 daughters. Aarti’s husband leaves her for another woman and she is left with her son. Both their families decide that they need to remarry and their marriage is arranged. This show aired for a little over a year before ending on a happy note.
