The Judge Orders Shlok and Aastha to live together for the next six months in Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon Ek Baar Phir.
What is love without hate? In Television shows every other love story kick-starts with the ground rooting indifference and hate. It is like Hate is the base of love; Star Plus’ Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon Ek Baar Phir is about love, hate, revenge revolving around the protagonists Shlok Agnihotri (Avinash Sachdev) and Aastha Kirloskar (Shrenu Parikh).
Shlok and Aastha’s story too started with the emotion of hate. In this feeling of hate, the two of them found love too. But as they say ‘Life is not a bed of roses’. Once Shlok and Aastha were tied in the holy bonds of matrimony, a twist in tale was awaiting Aastha and to the audience it was revealed that Shlok never really loved Aastha but he was just pretending to love her. The audiences further witnessed Aastha’s world crumbling and her dreams shattering. During that phase one as a viewer could not help but feel sorry for Aastha and be angry at Shlok.
If the phase of anguish and anger was seen in the show, the soap also witnessed some good light moments between the lead couple of the show when the two of them were lost in the jungle away from the privy eyes of their families. Seeing those moments one must have felt that maybe it was a brand new beginning for Shlok and Aastha but as they say happiness does not last forever and now the show has taken yet another ‘U’-turn where Aastha is all set to divorce Shlok (with a little push from her mother Kalnidi [Prachi Shah]) and Shlok is not ready to let her go.
While Aastha and Shlok’s families feel differently on this matter, it is Aastha and Shlok who are undergoing the happenings of the current situations. While on one hand we have Aastha who though has decided to divorce Shlok but yet she is broken inside and she feels the loss of her lost love. Looking at Aastha it feels as though a part of her is missing in the same pedestal we also have Shlok who is dealing with the upcoming divorce proceedings with anger. He does not want to let go of Aastha, it might come across as his ego but our guess is Shlok not wanting to let go of Aastha is much more than bruised ego, it’s all about hidden emotion.
But we believe whether Shlok and Aastha deny or accept their love, the love is still there. Not only from Aastha’s side but we believe love and care is present from Shlok’s side too. It is just that Shlok has either not realized his emotions or is simply in denial mode masking it under his ego and the feeling of hate. If only Shlok did not care for Aastha, If only he did not love her then he would not have protected Aastha from fire recently.
In the recent episode when the court hearing occurred it was clear that Shlok does not want to go ahead with the divorce, while Aastha wants to know where her relationship with Shlok stands. The judge seeing their confusion and hidden love orders them to stay together for six months and then decide whether to proceed with the divorce or not. Like the judge, the audience too can understand their hidden love but we wonder when will these two understand the same? Mr. and Mrs. Shlok Agnihotri leaving behind their battle of egos and realising their love for each other would be an event that would surely be interesting to watch.
Shlok might mask and undermine the gesture (of not wanting to give Aastha the divorce) and pretend as if he has brought Aastha back home because of what Niranjan (Manish Wadhwa), his father has said and Shlok might as well continue to be in denial mode of his feelings towards Aastha and on the other hand even Aastha might behave as if she is living with Shlok because of the court orders. But we would like to say to both of them, ‘Deny all you want but the love you have for each other in your hearts cannot be hidden forever. It would surface again and take priority either today, tomorrow or later this is bound to happen’.
In all probability these six months which Aastha and Shlok have to live together will give the audience cracker of episodes filled with entertainment. We also feel these six months would either make or break Aastha and Shlok’s relationship forever. These 6 months period (in the show) will be crucial for the lead protagonists and we somehow feel that this time period would bring about changes in attitudes, priorities and perspectives in both Shlok and Aastha and maybe they would understand each other better and learn to co-exist and love each other without any hesitation, hate and battle of egos. Their love might be hidden deep inside their hearts but love hidden does not mean love forbidden.
We certainly hope the future episodes of the show get happy times and positives changes for Shlok and Aastha. Fingers Crossed!
