Kings of Behind the Scenes’ Bromance On Indian Television

Indian television is most famous for its notorious heroes, damsel in distress, and the romance among them. However, behind the scenes it is a different story all together. While on screen, the makers are busy indulging the audiences in an unforgettable romance, off screen an eternal bromance is brewing. There is no doubt that two people working together will become well acquainted with each other but at times these bonds result in long lasting friendship, especially amongst the men on sets. While majority of the male co-actors show no signs of animosity, there are a few who take the crown.

The four came together on the sets of Miley Jab Hum Tum in 2008 and clicked almost instantly. Their behind the scenes interviews were clear indication of both their on screen and off screen chemistry which made the show a superhit amongst the masses. While it seemed that there was a split between the closeness of duos Mohit Sehgal and Arjun Bijlani and Abhishek Sharma and JasKaran Singh, together they created a dhoom on sets. Reports of the cast going on outings together were also floating around.

The trio met on the sets of Dill Mill Gayye in 2009 and have been a part of each other’s lives ever since. While it has been reported that Sehban Azim helped Karan Singh Grover prepare for his role of Asad Ahmed Khan, Grover acted as a fitness guru to Karan Wahi and Sehban Azim. Of the trio, Karan Wahi and Sehban Azim are seen “hanging out” with each other on numerous occasions. Photographs of the duo clicked at common friends’ parties and weekend outings flood social networking sites.

While onscreen, a number of these interactions created high voltage drama and an ambiance of hatred, off screen there was nothing but love and brotherhood amongst the men of Star Plus’ Iss pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon. The show which garnered TRPs on the basis of the passionate romance onscreen, was creating a bromance of its own behind the scenes. Actors Barun Sobti, Abhaas Mehta, Akshay Dogra and Karan Goddwani would always be seen together on their breaks. They not only shared their lunches but also shared their sleeping space in their vanity vans. Iss pyaar ko aakhir kya naam doon?

Karan Wahi – Gautam Rode – Gurmeet Choudhary – Rithvik Dhanjani

The already good friends, Karan Wahi, Gautam Rode, Gurmeet Choudhary and Rithvik Dhanjani came together once again on the sets of Nach Baliye. Having met separately at different points in their careers, the four became fast friends. While Rithvik, Karan and Gurmeet participated in the dance reality show Jhalak Dikhla Jaa Season 5, where Gurmeet took the trophy home, Gautam and Karan have been hosts of Nach Baliye for two seasons. The lively friends often meet and party together outside work but what we see on stage and backstage is equally entertaining.

The love for brotherhood is clearly evident in this fraternity. With the men of the industry walking shoulder to shoulder, the television industry is bound to thrive. Which bromance is your favorite? Share with us, only on Fuze.
