Back on April 27th 2016, Sony’s Kuch Rang Pyaar Ke Aise Bhi had a major twist in its storyline. The lead female protagonist of the show, Sonakshi had a major accident. The accident was a severe one with a major head injury. It concentrated on Dev taking extreme care of Sonakshi and must say Shaheer Sheikh was unblemished with his performance when Dev decided to narrate his childhood story to ‘Sona’ in order to keep her awake. This track led to Sonakshi realising her love for Dev, a feeling that even Dev reciprocated after some time.
Cut to June 23rd 2016, the neighbourhood show Ek Duje Ke Vaaste also initiated a similar track wherein Suman has had a severe accident and a head injury and now it’s Shravan’s turn to realise his love for her. There are full chances that this track too will lead to a confession episode.
Seeing the circumstances, aren’t the two shows getting too similar to each other in this perspective? The execution and stories of the two shows might be different (With Kuch Rang Pyaar Ke Aise Bhi being a bit better than Ek Duje Ke Vaaste in the accident sequence), but the following track and the aftermath of these fatal accidents of the leading ladies are going to be somewhat similar.
We wonder here why the female leads of Sony TV need to be in mortal danger to feel or make their guys understand that they are in love?! Undeniably, the shows changed a lot post the accident sequences, especially the behaviour of Dev changed after Sonakshi’s accident and looking at Ek Duje Ke Vaaste currently, we can expect the same from Shravan too. However, surely a little different track could be applied in either of the shows to make the protagonists confess/realise their love rather than applying the same tactics, that also when both the shows are airing on the same channel one after another (Kuch Rang Pyaar Ke Aise Bi at 9:30 pm and Ek Duje Ke Vaaste at 10 pm IST).
