I have a range of emotions leading me today to write this piece. Hence, if the emotions lead me to write something that go a little out of the way, I ask for pardon in advance.
Someone very recently told me an interesting thing. To quote exactly, “Dixit mansion these days look like a Fool’s paradise where only one intelligent guy resides among 10 fools trying to save all the fools desperately.”
Trust me, there could not have been a better way to describe the current position of the characters in the show other than this.
It’s been quite a long time since we are watching this show. 1 and half years surely isn’t a very short period. But honestly, I had been quite tired and bored all this while to continuously see Dev tagged under the ‘wrong’ category.
Each time, while everyone else were ‘right’ or ‘wrong’, Dev had always been ‘wrong’.
Dev is wrong.
Dev needs to change.
Dev needs to be corrected.
Dev needs help.
Dev needs to understand.
Mostly, it had been Dev who was at the ‘wrong’ side. And I guess after a long wait, like really a long wait, today we can stand at the top of our terrace, jump up and down, and shout our lungs out saying, ‘Finally, Dev is right!”.
But point to be noted here, it’s not that he is ‘right’ only, the major point is ALL OTHERS are wrong and ONLY he is ‘right’.
For once, Dev Dixit didn’t do anything, ‘Maa ke liye’, ‘Sonakshi ke liye’, ‘Suhaana ke liye’, ‘Golu ke liye’, all he did was follow his instincts that clearly tells him that Vickey is just staging a drama and he has no guilt thus far.
For a change, I am happy that until at least yesterday, no emotional blackmailing or pressure on him could really make him change his decision.
Having said that, I would seriously make a confession. These days, if the episode make me happy (because for a change Dev isn’t acting like a donkey), at the same time they make me excessively angry as well. Because by giving Dev some brain, I never expected the rest of the ENTIRE cast to have lost it!
How long can one tolerate the same old dialogues like, ‘Dev galat hai (Dev is wrong), ‘Dev ko maafi maangni chaiye’ (Dev should apologise), ‘Vickey sudhar raha hai’ (Vickey is changing)? – Trust me, the repeated ‘Dev galat hai’ raag takes a toll on my head and hence, I stopped writing waiting for that particular ‘raag’ to stop.
But guess what? Even I had been living in a fool’s paradise, because it didn’t stop at least even in one week. Now what exactly to write everyday where 10 people are acting foolish and continuously cornering one guy for being brainy?
Anyway, let’s a take a tour of the fool’s paradise today and I really hope you end up enjoying the ride…..contd
