Kuch Rang Pyar Ke Aise Bhi – The Sony Entertainment Television‘s show hasn’t just been a story but a mirror to many who watched it the first time it aired.
It was written in a way that made the viewer’s relate to it and probably made them self-conscious.
The story is relatable to many men and women and the characters specially were people you could feel the most.
Less dramatics, more reality and the kind of dialogues that you would want to say in a certain situation – it seemed as if the writers read your mind and penned them down. That’s what made KRPKAB so special in the mob of regular daily soaps.
If you are re-watching the show and going through the fabulous journey again, Dev Dixit will make you fall in love with him again.
Dev Dixit – He is special. Somewhat like a coconut. You need to bang it hard once, twice or may be thrice to see what’s inside it. Similarly, Dev Dixit (Shaheer Sheikh) will make you bang his or your head repeatedly and then you may realize what’s in his skin.
In the initial episodes, this forever angry, never smiling, never sorry guy would not let you understand easily what a soft cotton he is.
It will take days or rather episodes to get to know the different layers of Dev Dixit. When you peel an onion, it makes you cry but the layers just don’t stop coming across.
That’s how Dev is, more layers and the more you know him, the more emotional you can get about him. Very few characters connect with you emotionally, and Dev is one of those rare fictional man.
He may give the angriest ever stare to his employees, but he cares the most for them and would gift them the most expensive vacation if he feels they are exhausted.
He is the kind of man who insists his aged driver to stay at work because he knows no one else would give him employment.
He may appear as the rudest man, yet he would go miles to make you happy without letting you realize his efforts.
Yet he is man, who can’t recognize the colors of the rainbow, doesn’t understand why your heart beat should increase if you are in love, doesn’t know why the rain is regarded as romantic.
As Dev’s past unfolds, his childhood memories of his mother and sister impact the viewers deeply. His scenes with his mother hit you hard. In fact, those moments are quite relatable for any mother-child duo.
However, a very different side of Dev Dixit comes forth when he falls in love. The man starts realizing the colors of rainbow. He dances in rain. He wears orange shirt.
Proposes at 2 am in the morning. Says the most romantic words and sentences possible to the person he loves. Becomes a much cooler and calmer person.
However, tragedy hits his love story and he loses his calm again. Ishwari’s perfect son becomes drunkard.
Faints and falls on the floor in the middle of thousands of guests. Cries like a child for the love of his life.
Dev’s condition will make you realize that despite him being the closest to his mother, his mother could never become his friend.
Time and life made them partners to deal with a bad phase, however, both of them never could fill the void in their lives.
Both were required to be in their places to maintain the balance of that world. And Sonakshi in no way could substitute Ishwari in Dev’s life, but still the latter did fear of the same always.
After losing his love, his wife, his daughter – Dev Dixit again became a different man. Again with different layers.
The beauty of Dev is that he was never a hero. He had been a man who learnt from his mistakes. He has parts of you and me.
A feminist by nature who at times didn’t make that trait apparent but being the only man in a house of women, he tried to emerge as a man who could meet everyone’s expectations.
And in the process, he committed his own mistakes that we all do at times in life. He deserves no judgments. Because after each mistake, he came across as a better person.
There’s no way you can’t fall in love with the hidden innocence of this man. No way, you can’t fall in love with the way he loves.
Dev particularly loves the feeling of love and trust us, he would make you fall for the same.
