Mahabharat – The Devotional Saga Gets Resurrected!

2

After Balaji Telefilms‘ failed attempt of re-creating the television series Mahabharat, Swastik Pictures has taken the risk to resurrect the devotional saga. The historical drama with massive viewers’ appeal was created in 1988 on DD National by B.R. Chopra. This series not only aired within national grounds, but soon made airwaves across the globe with South Asian media partners airing the saga during prime-time.

As per Swastik Pictures’ latest casting list, veterans and upcoming artists have been roped in as major key players.  Once where Puneet Issar was the negative Duryodhana in B. R. Chopra’s Maharabharat, will now essay Parshuram. Joining this veteran, are today’s  Shaheer SheikhSaurabh Raj Jain, Sayantani Ghosh among others.

With the huge star-cast, Star Plus has left no stone unturned as they began promotions since a month. Producer, Siddharth Kumar Tewary has taken the much awaited time and focus towards making this series appealing for all generations.

Although with loads of speculations and critical analysis already brewing regarding the promotional video, we too wonder what the viewers have to say on this. Does the new series seem to have substance, grace and power to woo the global audience who have been accustomed with B. R. Chopra’s Mahabharat saga?

We convey all our good wishes to the unit of  Swastik Pictures’ Mahabharat crew!
