Mark Ruffalo fans may be in for a pleasant surprise. The 46 year old hunk may be gearing up to get angry yet again. The director of the 2008 Incredible Hulk claims it was Ruffalo, not Norton, who was the first choice to play the Hulk in the rendition of the classic comic. Unfortunately talks fell through. Ruffalo finally signed up for the role in the 2012 blockbuster action film, The Avengers. Currently, he is working on the sequel to the film, The Avengers: Age of the Ultron, where he will be seen reprising his role as Dr. Bruce Banner (The Hulk) but that is not all.
There is a possibility that Hulk may fly solo in the future. Joss Whedon, the director of The Avengers, contradicted those claims earlier this year. But Marvel producer Kevin Feige has hinted that the studio would eventually like to see Ruffalo headline his own movie. Ruffalo, meanwhile, has also said he’d be happy to take the lead in a Hulk-centric film but added that he was not aware of any such plans. As part of the Marvel world, Ruffalo has already made a cameo appearance alongside Robert Downey Jr. in Iron Man 3. Marvel’s The Avengers 2 hits theaters on May 1, 2015.
