There was much hype about Shaheer Sheikh’s Indonesian movie. The posters are doing rounds for quite a while now. Titled as “Maipa Deapati & Datu Museng”, the movie is based on a real story of Mangkasara’s Maipa and Datu, which is in similar lines of the classic Romeo and Juliet.
Maipa and Datu were in love but Maipa was already promised to a man named Malangasa. Maipa and Datu faced many challenges. And what happened after is the heart of the story.
Shaheer Sheikh, the actor who plays the lead role of Datu Museng in the historical drama, shared the news of the release of the movie date along with its official trailer. Produced under the banner of ART2TONIC, this movie is going on floors on the 11th of January next year. The movie stars Fildzah Burhan as Maipa Deapati.
The trailer looks exciting. It starts with Datu saying that he gives all of himself to his motherland Mangkasara. He will do anything for his country.
But still, if he gets to choose over his land and Maipa, he would choose her. And that’s it. That’s where you would definitely fall for our hero.
Shaheer seems to be essaying the character of a warrior. He commands to his army, “If you hesitate, get out from the troops! If you are sure to give your best, then go fight!”
The story had a tragic ending similar to that of Romeo Juliet. When Maipa realised that the army is coming near, she asked Datu to grant her, her last wish. “If you truly love me, kill me now please.”, that’s all she said.
But the expressions on Fildzah Burhan and Shaheer Sheikh’s faces did invoke a lot of emotions. Datu told her, “If you go first facing the God, I will come at midday. If I don’t come, wait for me till noon. If I don’t come at noon, I will join you at sunset.”
