Shashi-Sumeet Productions is back with a new show, Tumhari Pakhi. The production house famously known for Punar Vivah, Diya Aur Baati Hum and Punar Vivah – Ek Nayi Umeed is ready with a fresh story for Life OK. Tumhari Pakhi will air from November 11th at 9:30 PM IST on Life OK, starring Iqbal Khan and Shraddha Arya.

Fans believe that this is going to be Iqbal Khan’s big come back to television. He’s known for his roles as Angad, Rudra and Raghu among others characters Co-actor, Shraddha was last seen in Main Laxmi Tere Aangan Ki.

The show is based on the great Bangali novelist, Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay novel, Naba Bidhan. He has also written the novels, Devdas and Parineeti. Tumhari Pakhi is said to be about a girl named Pakhi (Shraddha) who waits 18 years for the man (Anshuman, played by Iqbal) that she loves. She writes him a letter every day, but never posts them. People tell her to move on, but she does not. The story does turn into a love triangle and it is said to be like Devdas, but with a twist.

The show has a Rajasthani backdrop and features actors like Sachin Shroff, Ritu Vij, Komal Sharma and Rishi Khurana. Playback singer, Sunidhi Chauhan has been roped in to sing the title track. Sachin Gupta will score the music for the song.

Star Plus’ Saraswatichandra is also based on a novel; however, the story-line has strayed from the novel itself. Whether or not Tumhari Pakhi wins the hearts of the audience and how faithful it stays to the novel is left to be seen, but one thing we know for sure, the sets are going to be beautiful and rich with Rajasthani colors.
