Top Halloween Costumes for 2013
Over the years, Halloween, a holiday celebrated on the eve of All Saint’s Day, has redefined itself. As years progress, the holiday is less about the creepy crawlies and more about the hot and happening. Participants, who once dressed as ghosts and goblins now have taken costumes of their favorite celebrities and movie characters. The trend continues this year with some interesting costume choices. Let’s have a look at some of our top picks.
Our first set of costumes is no surprise for those who watched the Video Music Awards (VMA) this past summer. The candid duo of American Pop-culture, Robin Thicke and Miley Cyrus were in the news for all the wrong reason after their performance at the VMA’s. But as they say, no publicity is bad publicity. After all, the incident did make them the most popular Halloween costume of 2013.
AMC Network’s series “Breaking Bad” inspired yet another look for this year’s festivity. “Breaking Bad” fans will be seen sporting a yellow hazmat suit look with a gas mask – a look inspired by the eccentric chemistry teacher turned meth-cooker Walter White, the male protagonist of the show.
They are tinnie, they’re tiny and a wee- bit yellow. You have guessed it right, I’m talking about Gru’s little minions. After the success of Disney Pixar’s “Despicable Me” and Despicable Me 2”, minions are in. The best thing about this look is that it is both child and adult friendly.
Another hot seller this season is the “Duck Dynasty” inspired look. A&E Network has reported that Uncle Si is loved by all. Si Robertson, a gray bearded Vietnam War Veteran is the highlight of the show. The costume, revering this iconic character is seen in hippie style clothing, beard, head band and a blue plastic cup.
As a result of the recent government shutdown, seasonal costume shops around the United States are cashing in on this next set of costumes. Federal agents, picketers and recreational park workers holding slogans opposing the government will be seen trick or treating for their rights this Halloween. Now the question is would you open the doors for these little revolutionaries?
Apart from these top 5 costumes, 2013 will also witness many of its pop-culture superhero costumes such as Batman, Superman, Green Lantern, Black Widow, Iron Man and Thor. The classic vampire, warewolf, ghosts and ghouls will also be present.
