Yeh Pyaar Nahi Toh Kya Hai: Farewell To One Of The Best Stories On Indian TV!

Yeh Pyaar Nahi Toh Kya Hai
Yeh Pyaar Nahi Toh Kya Hai

I was thoroughly heartbroken that the beautifully scripted and well plotted story of Yeh Pyaar Nahi Toh Kya Hai ended last week.

YPNTKH was the most under-appreciated, under-promoted and under-rated show of this year in our opinion. Since the story had universally appealing elements of a good mystery thriller romance plot that would have appealed to the mystery genre loving crowd, good family dynamics for the family drama crowd and romance for the female and youth audiences who love romance.

But alas it’s TRP was not reflective of its merit. We feel this low TRP was partly because of Sony TV’s lack of smart strategists and analysts who are not wise to the tactics of their rivals who promote their good shows via different means and strategies, and because of audiences who didn’t give a chance to such a well written series.
The title music of the show was also one of the best composed and sung pieces by Rahul Jain, who also has also sung for the other similarly brilliant show Bepannaah.

Here’s a look at the things we loved and hated about the ending of YPNTKH, and what could have been if the show hadn’t ended so abruptly:

1) Anushka And Her Appa:

The love between Anushka and her Appa had been one of the most beautiful part of the YPNTKH journey. Anushka’s love for her Appa had been so strong that it had over ridden her trust in Siddhant’s words and hence she never doubted her father’s involvement in Prabhakar’s murder initially.

Yeh Pyaar Nahi Toh Kya Hai

The last week of the show was a heart-breaking watch as Anushka had to come to terms with her father’s involvement in the coal mines and airplane deal crimes, and Prabhakar Sinha’s murder. The last beautiful moment of the two where KK finally professed that his love for his daughter was above all his ambitions, had us in tears.

We so wished the show had been given more time to play with the story plot of the tussle of KK Reddy’s soul as he came to terms with what was more important to him, his love for his daughter and his ambition for his fame as a renowned businessman.

The one episode soul changing moment of KK Reddy was too little and too abrupt, but nonetheless a beautiful change to witness in the last episode.
